Coastal Chic: Sun, Sand, and Dior at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay
July 26th 2025
If the Sayan property is a spiritual jungle retreat, Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay is its glamorous, sun-drenched sister. Spread across a terraced hillside that cascades down to the ocean, this resort feels like a traditional Balinese village reimagined for the global elite.
The Villa: A Private Sanctuary by the Sea
We stayed in one of their iconic villas with a private plunge pool, and it was the epitome of indoor-outdoor living.
The Design: Inspired by a traditional Balinese courtyard house, the villa is enclosed within high stone walls for total privacy. You enter through a colorful, carved wooden gate into your own personal tropical garden.
The Plunge Pool: Our private infinity-edge plunge pool felt like a secret oasis. We spent our mornings here, watching the sunlight dance on the water with the Indian Ocean as our backdrop.
The Details: The villa features separate thatched-roof pavilions—one for the master bedroom with its deep-soaking antique tub and outdoor shower, and another for the open-air bale (living area). It’s the kind of space that makes you want to cancel all your plans and just be.
The Main Event: The Dioriviera Takeover
The absolute highlight of our stay was the Dioriviera Pop-up and Café at Sundara Beach Club. For the season, Dior completely reimagined the space with their signature Toile de Jouy motifs and sun-kissed luxury.
The Vibe: Everything from the pool floats to the parasols was draped in Dior’s iconic prints. It felt like stepping into a high-fashion editorial set against the Jimbaran sunset.
The Dior Café: We spent hours here sipping monogrammed lattes and chilled champagne. The menu was a sophisticated blend of Mediterranean lightness—think fresh carpaccio, vibrant salads, and intricately decorated Dior-branded desserts that were almost too beautiful to eat.
The Bar: The cocktails were just as curated as the couture. We tried several from their signature list, which featured floral notes and botanical infusions that mirrored the Dior fragrance line. It’s easily the most "Instagrammable" spot in Bali right now.
Dining Around the Bay
Beyond the Dior glamour, the culinary scene at FS Jimbaran is a powerhouse:
Sundara: Even without the Dior takeover, Sundara is legendary. By night, it’s a sultry, high-end BBQ spot where the seafood is caught fresh from the bay just hours before.
Taman Wantilan: This is where you go for a "theatrical" breakfast or dinner. With live cooking stations and panoramic bay views, it’s an interactive feast of international and Balinese flavors.
Jala: For a more intimate, authentic experience, Jala offers traditional Balinese dishes that tell the story of the island's heritage.
The Verdict
Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay manages to be both a heritage-rich cultural experience and a trendy, high-fashion destination. Whether you’re there to soak in your private plunge pool or shop the latest Dior capsule, it’s a masterclass in seaside luxury.
Traveler Tip: If you're staying during the Dioriviera pop-up, make sure to book your table at the Dior Café well in advance—even as a resort guest, it's the hottest ticket in town.
